New Amazon Feature! (yay)

It's something called "Rufus." Too cute, right? I found the link on the Amazon home page.  It said, simply, "Rufus." I was curious, and I clicked on it. A little window appeared with the following text in it:

Hi, I'm Rufus!

You can ask me all your shopping questions. My answers are powered by AI, so I may not always get things right. Learn more

(Emphasis mine.)

Where do I sign up?? I want to be able to ask questions knowing the answers may not be right. I'm tired of knowing stuff. This is huge!  And I want to know when Rufus will branch out into other segments of our lives.

  1. Ughhh I can’t stand all the intrusive AI shit everywhere. I switched to the “new” Outlook & it was just awful. Luckily, you can switch back. Here’s a question for Rufus: why can’t Amazon just show me the stuff I searched for without throwing their stupid sponsored crap in the middle of it? 😡😡😡

  2. I find searching using Amazon's search window pretty maddening. Like, if what I want isn't available, just say so, don't show me a bunch of slightly related items I feel compelled to scroll through in case what I want is buried somewhere in there. (Because sometimes is IS.wtf)

  3. "Rufus" is an anagram for "U surf."

  4. Rufus tried to offer me recommendations for toddler toys, houseplants, and dog treats. Can't say I'm in the market to buy any of those. - Dina J. Vaughn

  5. I'm beginning to envision a scenario where those three categories of things are somehow needed all at once and it's not pretty.
