I'm not feeling too journalistic this evening. I had a brief conversation with some friends about what we remembered we were doing and where we were when we first heard about the 9-11 attacks. We used to do that with John Kennedy's assassination.
I wish you all a peaceful September 11, 2021, and may it be a slow news day.
Not really sure why the "where were you" discussions are so popular. I remember what happened and I remember feeling scared/angry/vengeful over it. What difference does it make whether I was at home or in the backseat of John Cusack's limo when I found out?

ReplyDeleteIs that a hypothetical?
Seriously...it's what people do, right? Whatever chemical stew is generated in the brain upon any exciting or dangerous or otherwise intensely notable event, it converts thoughts into strong long-term memory, so, in your mind, when you recall the event, you get the whole package. I suppose this trait is very useful for survival if one lives (and survives) in a wild, hostile environment. It also helps you remember what song was playing on the car radio when you got that first kiss...
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense.
ReplyDeleteYes, hypothetical...
