Sums it Up

Who is this person?  Because I'm sold.  And why is all of this just one notch below WWF mania?

  1. But they believe the liberal media when it says a Republican won. Like my Dem rep lost to a Republican by a small margin. No one is challenging that. Interesting that the media is only "wrong" when it disagrees with what they want...

  2. True believers are emotionally invested. Religion illustrates the same phenomenon. There's no changing any (non-critical-thinking) mind once it has found a place in an internally consistent universe, however nutso cracko it looks from just about anywhere else.

History is sadly full of times when significant numbers of people believed with all their might in something not only wrong but dangerous. I hope this one fizzles out but it might not.

  3. You both make very good points. I think it boils down to the fact that reason and logic are not in play here. What we see is very much like major league sports, with its fans, its hyped media coverage, and its own brand of logic and pseudo science ("Base-a-ball been veddy, veddy gud tu mee.")
