Another Day

I woke up at 8:00. It's 35 degrees, and cloudy. The forecast is for cloudy all day, unlike the range of song.

Yesterday's news was mostly of Biden's work to restore some semblance of normalcy to the workings of the federal government. Of course Republicans, or at least certain Republicans, are calling him out on some of his decisions. The main take-away from Heather Cox Richardson's daily brief was that Biden is undoing the system of loyal appointees with which Trump manned key departments, and replacing them with non-partisan people who actually know what they are doing.

Interesting notion of Heather Cox' Richardson's: the system in place that Trump walked into was run and staffed by professionals who were loyal to the government, the nation, rather than to any one so-called leader. When he referred to "the Deep State" that was working against him throughout his tenure in office, it's as if it were they. Trump was threatened and terrorized by the in-place government of the United States, and he did his best to undermine it. But he failed, so far at least.

  1. Unfortunately, the wackadoos are still out there and in huge numbers. I'm worried about midterms already...

  2. Yeah. Me, too. Trump has legitimized and emboldened a kind dangerous group in the U.S., who were already half-way there thanks to the NRA. I can only hope that with Trump being marginalized by the media, his gang of idiots will simmer down and return to NASCAR.
