To the turkeys: run. Run like the wind. It is not noble to be below us on the food chain. To the Americans with whom we broke bread 390 years ago, now: I am sorry. To that other 1% of Americans--the ones who can't afford to buy dinner today on Thanksgiving day: the remaining 99% are thankful, but as is so often the case, by the very act of survival we are diminished.

OK that was kind of a downer.
ReplyDeleteYeah but ... we should be thinking about serious stuff, too. Things are pretty sucky out there, even if not quite touching us that much, yet. And for the people who mock and believe they're safe, omg stupid. If the economy keeps getting going south, I shudder to imagine all the young unemployed, desperate folks out there. And the easy availability of guns.
